About

I am Annie Hung and in my professional life I go by three designations: Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Master of Business Administration (MBA), and Certified Kingdom Advisor (CKA); Having each of them demonstrates my commitments in the professional, academic, and ethics requirements of my profession— I am a financial advisor.

Being a financial advisor was a profession I chose to be in, now almost three decades ago.

After working for one of the Big Six accounting firms, getting my MBA, passing my CPA exam and working for a Fortune 50 company, I realized that I enjoyed working with individuals and families more than with companies. Why? I really like to put not just taxes, but other aspects of finances in good order for myself and for my clients. That is the main reason I still remain committed to this profession.

Starting out on my own, I didn’t have a huge network, so I gained clients by presenting financial seminars at civil and law enforcement organizations in both New York and New Jersey. Speaking is challenging, but also rewarding and a great opportunity to share some hard-earned knowledge in the areas of retirement, investment, education planning, and so forth.

That is who I am, and what follows is how I like to work with my clients.

Discipline

I believe in discipline when it comes to managing one’s finances. The Chinese have a saying: exchange kids to educate—meaning simply when it comes to teaching your own child, it is better to trade off this duty with another parent. Why? There is less emotion and more rational thinking when teaching someone else’s child. I find investing and planning for your finances works much the same way. Sell or not sell? Invest or not invest? Having an objective professional to discuss the pros and cons of a proposed strategy can be a sizable benefit to your finances.

Planning
I trust in planning as it can help reduce the effect of chance. Even though we can’t predict the future, and nothing ever comes out exactly as anticipated, I trust in planning as it can significantly improve those prospects. With a plan, you have an idea of at least what the ballpark result will be; without it, you are just winging it. Since we all get older and we can’t work forever, if you wish to maintain a similar lifestyle during your retirement years, planning will give you a much better chance to really enjoy the retirement journey.

Helping

I delight in helping those who desire to work with a professional financial advisor. We are all born with different gifts. While many people are gifted and can multi-task well, the question to ask yourself is: do I have the ability/time to do this task well? Or, is it better to engage a professional’s services and free myself up to do what I enjoy and do best?

I recognize that I can’t be all things to all people, so I prefer to work with those who desire having additional expertise managing, implementing and monitoring their financial planning.

What can I do for my clients?

Being a CPA, I love numbers—something not everyone enjoys. Having worked for corporate America. I am aware of company benefits, stock options, 401k plans to just name a few. But, also being a mom, I've learned a thing or two about college planning. Out of my own experience, I know estate planning is a painful process. Managing my own investments has also given me the confidence and experience in asset allocation and mutual funds/stocks selection. Finally, blessed or cursed with a Type A personality, I am pretty good at getting things effectively done.

I take pride in offering full financial service to my clients.

How I work.

In an initial meeting you share your concerns, your basic financial info and the goals you have for a financial advisor, particularly if you have had past experiences of working with one. After hearing your goals and concerns I will answer your questions truthfully and directly. I like to share my work philosophy—that what makes me tick, and what I can and cannot do for you. Then I like to give prospective clients time to think things over before I call back to see whether we should work together, or simply part as friends.

In Summary…

I am a devoted financial advisor who likes to work with individuals, families, professionals, and small business owners who mutually value each other’s time and expertise. In the past two decades, I have absolutely enjoyed working with corporate executives, professionals, small business owners, start-ups and even professional athletes (I am one of the USA Swimming Certified Officials). If this sounds like the way you want your financial advisor to work, I would be delighted to start the conversation—whenever you are ready.
